From father to son. This well-known expression is usually quoted when a son does well on something, for example he might become a good businessman just like his father, and this quality could then be said to pass from From father to son.
However, today we bring a different message, one that instead of being given from father to son might be given from son to father. It called our attention because if taken in consideration, it could bring huge advantages to parents and teachers.
It was published on the Perfil Policial newspaper all over Brazil.
Dear parents, before it is too late...
Dear parents, don’t be afraid to be hard on me. I prefer it this way, as it makes me fell secure.
Do not treat me with excessive carefulness. Not everything I want is good for me.
Do not call my attention in front of the others. I’ll pay much more attention if you talk slowly and only with me, when I am by myself.
Don’t let me create bad habits. At my age, I count on you to tell me what’s right and what’s wrong.
Do not promise what you might not be able to do. Remember I feel bad when promises are broken.
Do not protect me from my own attitudes. Sometimes, I might need to learn through pain.
Avoid being false and do not lie. Falsity makes me confused and at the end I might lose the confidence I have on you.
Don’t bother me with trifling matters. If you act like that, I’ll have to protect myself, playing deaf.
Never try to give me the impression of being perfect or infallible. The shock will be huge the day I find out that in reality you are not like that.
Do not say my fear is foolish. They are terribly real for me. If you use comprehension with me, I will be much more secure and tranquil.
Do not leave my questions unanswered. Otherwise I will stop asking you and I will look for information elsewhere.
Do not consider an apology to be humiliating. A sincere apology will make me much more enthusiastic about you.
And do not forget that for me to blossom and flower I need a lot of comprehension. And above all, a lot of love.

You that are a parent or a teacher, remember always that without kids there’s no future nor hope of better days.
Educating children is a very important factor to build a more human and happier world.
To educate doesn’t mean to overprotect or to suffocate our children with excessive care, as a child is like a plant. The excess of water can drown it and the lack of it can dry it out.
Think about it, but do it now!
