ícone Just two boys...

There were two children in a town called Nazareth, which would later be called the Flower of Galilee.

Located on a hill, it was a small village of houses, almost always consisting of a single room, connected to a cave dug into the rock.

At that time, it was of no importance, with its small houses, humble and stony streets, unique shops.

The boys were almost the same age. The one who had been born in the city of Bethlehem, on a cold night, was called Yeshua and was only a few months younger than his cousin John, who was visiting him at that time, brought by his mother´s hands.

While their mothers took care of the household chores and tried to catch up on the many news about their own lives, the boys went out to walk.

When dusk announced itself, allowing the first shadows of night to descend on the landscape, the two women became restless.

Where were the two little ones?

And they went out to look for them. Mary and Elizabeth saw their kids, side by side, on a small hill.

Yeshua´s hair fluttered in the caressing breath of the breeze.

His little index finges showed John the landscape that multiplied in the distance, as a great general who was giving details of his plans to an officer he trusts.

John was simply listening and looking at the magnificent set of mountains and valleys pointed out, next to the crystal waters.

No one ever knew what they were talking about. Perhaps it was the first combination, on Earth, between love and truth, for the implantation of the kingdom of God.

What we do know is that the next day, when Elizabeth and John were saying goodbye to return to their own home, Elizabeth asked:

Wouldn't you like to come with us?

And the little carpenter from Nazareth responded promptly and tenderly:

John will go first.

It was not really an answer to the question asked, but rather the ratification of the Baptist's mission: to go ahead, to make the paths smooth so that the Lamb of God could manifest himself among men.

That is why, years later, we will see the worker of the first hour, dressed in skins, announcing with energy: I am the voice crying in the desert of hearts.

Make straight the way of the Lord, as the prophet Isaiah said.

Everyone of us brings, when we are reborn on this planet, a plan of action for our journey.

Some of us do not have great missions or ones to conduct other minds. What is up to us is to be there for the family and professional commitments, to climb, even just one step, on the path of evolution.

Others bring commitments that have to do with the growth of Humanity and the planet.

That is why we have those who stand out in science, in the researches, helping in the discovery of medicines and vaccines for the preservation of human life.

There are those who stand out in Education, instruction, so that many minds can be enlightened.

Or in the arts, offering the world the beauty of written poems and the poetry of sumptuous buildings, which rise up, as if wanting to reach the heavens.

May our stay in this world be for our growth, for the progress of other, for the glory of God.
