ícone The other side of the road

Death is nothing at all.

I have only passed to the other side of the way. I am me, you are you.

I will continue to be whatever I was for you. Give me the same name you have always given me, talk to me as you have always done.

You continue living in the world of creatures, I am living in the world of the Creator.

Do not use a solemn or sad tone, continue laughing at what made us laugh together. Pray, smile, think about me. Pray for me.

Let my name be pronounced as it has always been, without any kind of emphasis, without any trace of shadow or sadness.

Life means everything it has always meant, the thread has not been cut. Why would I be out of your thoughts, now that I am just out of your lives?

I am not far, I am just on the other side of the path...

You who remained there, move on. Life remains as beautiful and pretty as it has always been.

I wish we could all say goodbye to yet another journey in the physical world like that, with our heads held high, without remorse, without fear and still leaving a trail of hope for those who remain.

I wish we all had this clear notion that we will not be far away, but only on the other side of the road.

I wish we could keep the bond with who left, not the bond that holds, that retains, but the one that maintains the connection of the heart, that makes those who left the world for the first time feel calm, without worries about those who remained in it.

I wish we understood that each one has its own path, and however great our love is, it was not made to live forever tied to us.

Love does not chain, on the contrary, it frees, gives wings, gives opportunities, desires and works for the good of the other person.

And when the other´s time end here on Earth, our soul should be flooded with happiness.

That does not prevent us from feeling the absence, from getting used to living more distant from the one who, at times, shared an entire incarnation with us.

That does not prevent us from suffering. Suffering is part of life, the growth of the Spirit and its process of moral awareness.

Let us move on anyway. Our time will come. And the most incredible thing of all is that we never know when. That is why it is important to always be prepared, leaving the house and the soul in order, tidy, nothing out of place, nothing to be done or to be solved in the supposed tomorrow.

Soon we will be on the other side and still walking, because the road is long, continuous and full of achievements, on both sides.

The further we are, the stronger and more willing we will be. Each step taken makes us more complete, happier.

Those on the other side of the path follow our path with affection and, at times, are planning to return, because the coming and going is universal law.

One day we will still ask ourselves: what is the real other side of the road?
