Once upon a time a German emperor paid a visit to one of the farthest provinces of his domains.
He was passing by a little school located along the road in which he traveled, in a rural area, when he decided to stop the journey and pay the students a visit.
Teachers and students welcomed him with respect and devotion.
Amidst all the enthusiasm, there were some people who improvised speeches in honor of the illustrious visitor.
The emperor was surprised and very happy with the reception.
He noticed the class was intelligent, easy-going and lively, and so felt really well among them.
Having heard them sing, say poems and speeches, he then decided to have fun with them.
His secretary brought him an orange and he showed it to all the boys and girls, asking:
Is anyone able to tell me which kingdom does it belong to?
To the kingdom of the vegetables! - said a smiling talkative girl of sparkly eyes.
Amazing! - Said the emperor, and continued:
Since you answered with such speed, I’ll ask you other questions. I hope you will answer it quickly and correctly. If you can do it without hesitation I’ll give you a medal as a prize. Do you accept the challenge?
Yes, sir! - Said the girl.
Putting his hands in one of his pockets and pulling a coin from it, the emperor asked:
Which kingdom does it belong to?
To the mineral kingdom. - Said the little girl.
How about myself, which kingdom do I belong to? - The emperor questioned.
There was a brief moment of silence. The kids looked at one another. The girl stopped smiling. She got serious and embarrassed. She was afraid of offending the emperor by saying he belonged to the animal kingdom.
But it would, after all, be the correct answer. However, she thought she could lose the medal and may get told off.
An answer suddenly came to her. Her eyes brightened again and she answered loud and clear: You belong to the kingdom of God!
The girl’s answer caused admiration among the class, the teacher and all the people who accompanied the emperor.
However, it was the emperor himself who felt most touched by the girl’s affirmation.
Unable to speak, he gave the girl a medal and, very thrilled, he said: I hope I am worthy of this kingdom, my child.

We all belong to God. The big and small. The rich and poor. Healthy and sick.
Regardless of color, race, nationality, we all belong to Him.
He created us all, even those who do not believe in His existence.
We are fed by His love every day. And we will all reach, although in different times, His kingdom of peace, justice and love.
That’s because God loves everyone equally and offers everyone the same chances of progress and happiness.
And patiently He awaits us to accept His offer.
We are all from God. You and me and all Humankind!
Do not forget this and keep a big smile of hope, renew your strength and keep on going towards the light, embracing goodness.
