The phenomenon is very antique.
Going back in time, we find registers in one of the oldest books written by Humanity, the Bible.
On the second versicle from the first chapter of the book of Genesis, you can read: the Earth was empty, a formless mass cloaked in darkness. And the Spirit of God was hovering over its surface.
Man could feel the presence of the Creator. It means that, since early days, mankind registers the World beyond its physical sphere, the World of spiritual beings.
Paul of Tarsus, realizing the presence of this special perception in human beings, called it a gift.
In his Epistle to the Corinthians he discourses about that, describing its different kinds.
At the same time, the Man from Nazareth gave multiple proves of the interrelation between the physical and the spiritual World.
He talked to the tormented Spirits who were called Legion, in the country of the Gadarenes; He talked to the ones who attacked the youngster who was brought to be cured.
Sir of the Spirits – that is how they called Him when they discovered that the Spirits obeyed Him.
Nevertheless, it was only on the XIX century that this gift would be largely compiled and studied by the sage Allan Kardec. He named it mediumship.
That is how he called the capacity of being an intermediate between one world and another, between two dimensions. Medium or intermediate.
Still incomprehensible until our days, mediumship is, however, a faculty inherent to any human being.
Almost every man has traces of it. Some more, others less.
Who has not have had the impression of seeing or feeling the presence of a bodiless being, next to him or her, guarding them, in times of pain?
Who has not referred to the interference of angelical beings in moments of difficulty?
Who has not trusted a son who leaves to distant lands under the care of a being called the guardian angel, the protector, the one who orientates?
Who has not heard the whispering of barely perceptible voices, inside oneself?
It is difficult to meet someone who has not experienced something as such, if not personally, at least from a person from the family, or a close friend.
All these experiences tell us that the Spiritual World makes itself constantly present in the physical World.
One can say that there is interpenetration from one world into the other.
We move in the physical sphere. Our acts and thoughts have an effect in the spiritual dimension.
Nobody walks alone. As the apostle Paul said: We are surrounded by a cloud of witnesses.
Shadows, Spirits, guides. It does not matter how we call them, they are a reality.
They silently guide us. They discreetly orientate us. They subtly give us signs that they have their attentive look on us.

When you are about to give up because you believe you are alone, abandoned, think that someone, in the Spiritual World, guards your life and cares about you.
You may not believe. It does not matter. Anyway, those who love you stay with you.
