ícone Happiness and work

The Spirits teach us that the complete happiness is a natural endowment of spiritual perfection.

As long as man has vices and moral gaps, he will suffer.

The exclusive identification with material things causes suffering.

All that is material is transitory.

Who identify his or her source of satisfaction with that which depends only on material elements is fated to lose it.

At the end of the earthly existence, remains an only moral and intelectual conquest.

Such conquests correspond to a treasure no thief can steal and no bookworm or rust can destroy.

The spiritual perfection does not embrace moral conquests only.

It also involves the perfecting of the intelect.

Reason and feeling, polished and purified, are the two wings that guides the Spirit to its plenitude.

Therefore, all that matters is to dedicate oneself to the cultivation of both.

        Happiness is every man’s dream.

Ask anyone what they wish and the answer will certainly be happiness.

The search for plenitude, comfort and peace has been leading mankind through the ages.

The fragility of material life itself defies the intelect.

In the search of conserving and subduing nature’s elements, mankind develops his intellectual capabilities.

With the course of time, this developed intelect turns to more transcendent questions.

Reflections arise on the reason and the purpose of life.

The reason for so much suffering involving human life is inquired.

        Spiritism answers such questions.

It teaches that the obstacles and misfortunes are meant to develop the human sensibility and intelect.

The equality before pain, illness or death shows us how much we are alike and should be solidary with each other.

Rich and poor, beautiful and ugly, we are all submitted to the imperatives of the nature.

It is difficult to be insensitive before a pain which has already been experienced by us.

As mankind evolves, the sufferings become less excruciating.

On account of intelectual evolution, medicines and sophisticated treatments are discovered.

It is all linked to the Divine Plan.

Intelectual progress comes almost automaticaly, from the natural desire men have to shun pain and obstacles.

The moral progress sustains the intelectual, but it requires greater sensibility and effort to accomplish itself.

It presumes enough maturity to comprehend life from a higher level.

The current stage of mankind already enables us to comprehend that material conquests do not ensure happyness.

Despite cientific and tecnologic evolution, men still remain anguished and deprived of peace.

To be happy, it is necessary to overcome old vices that cause great torment.

Envy, jealousy, selfishness, greed and unbalanced sensuality are examples of moral gaps which afflicts whoever feels them.

The man who is really determined to be happy needs to dedicate himself to fighting his own vices.

The developed intelect helps him to identify his moral problems.

Just think about which of your characteristics takes your peace away and are not laudable in others.

Once the problems are identified, it is necessary to work in order to overcome them.

A mature human being knows that there is no result without work, nor reward without effort.

Nobody will become an angel by a stroke of luck.

Subject oneself to the application of a strong will upon the perfection of one´s own character.

The absolute happiness implies spiritual perfection, which is the result of work.

        Think about it.
