ícone The rain of the eyes

“It rains.

In the water spring, it rains.

In the front of the tears of the shut preterit.

Washing the rain away from tired eyes.

Raining in the ocean, in loved oceans.”

For how long have you not cried?

When was the last time your eyes were flooded with tears, these small drops that seem to be born in our hearts?

Just like the phenomenon of the atmospheric precipitation, the rain, which has the function of purifying the earth, the water and the air, our tears also have a similar function.

They have the function of cleaning our inner being, of expressing our emotions, being them either of joy or pain.

We have to learn to express our feelings.

Our culture has got deep-rooted concepts, as the well-known saying “boys do not cry”, or “it is not nice to cry”, that were deeply placed in our lives when we were still kids through our household education, and ended up being internalized in our souls, and they keep coming out in our adult lives.

It does not matter if we are men or women; when on Earth, we all search for sensibility, self knowledge and our feelings’ expression.

Sooner or later, all the things we keep inside us will come out.

If the feelings kept are good ones, we are missing a valorous opportunity of bringing them out to the world, improving our relationship with our fellow brothers as well as with ourselves.

If instead they are unbalanced feelings, we will be missing the opportunity of facing them, analyzing them, and of taking the necessary steps so that they will be eradicated from our inner selves.

The barriers which stop us from feeling emotions, which stop us from crying, are usually the same ones which make us shy and reserved people.

Barriers we should break, so that our days could become lighter, clearer, as the atmosphere which receives the waters of the rain and in it finds purification.

The rain of the eyes does us good.

It is a precious exercise to relieve, to bring out whatever causes anguish in our inner selves, or even what gives us joy; it is a salutary habit.

To tell someone how much we love that person, whenever this feeling is inside our hearts - even without a special reason for it -, will be always a way of strengthening the relationship with this person.

It will be a way of building a happier union, and, mainly, a way of making our self-esteem stronger, making our self-love more powerful.

God gave us the rain to water the fields, to purify the air.

He also gave us tears, so that our inner landscape could be watered, and so that the atmosphere of the Spirit could find pureness.
