ícone When death comes

It is something that no one escapes from. Rich, intellectual, poor, ignorant, good or bad, we will all die one day.

In a paradoxical way, however, it is what we least think about, in general. Or we do not even want to think.

However, we should keep in mind that if we are heading towards a certain destination, the correct thing would be to prepare ourselves.

It is as if it were imperative for us to undertake a long journey, leaving everything we have behind us. We would certainly prepare for it.

Not knowing exactly which weather we will find in the place where we are getting to, we would take a luggage that would include clothing for mild temperatures and others for intense heat or very cold.

We would have to worry about what we would do when we arrived and we would establish a plan.

So, how can we not think about the great and essential journey we will take, transferring ourselves from this world to another?

A world that is vibrant, where there will be reunions, where we will need to have a special clothing, so that we can move in it, properly.

The wedding garment, the same that the Evangelist describes in the parable of the Wedding Feast.

A garment that is woven, in our daily lives, by our way of thinking, acting, producing for good or for bad.

Perhaps it would be interesting for us to think about praying to the Good God so that when that moment comes, the moment of passage, to leave one reality to enter another.

It could be something similar to this: Lord, when my time to leave comes, let me be prepared. May there be peace in my conscience for not having acted badly towards my fellows.

May I be ready, with my luggage of good actions in a proper case, without remorse for the undone or unfulfilled.

Allow the good Spirits to receive me, helping me in this transposition from the fragile vessel of earthly life to the immense vessel of Spirituality.

Maybe, Lord, you may allow old loves to welcome me, bringing me hugs, flowers and smiles.

Loves of this life, gone before, leaving a gap in my heart; loves of other lives, always remembered by the immortal Spirit.

Allow, Heavenly Father, that those who remain on Earth, remain calm, that they accept my departure, with the dignity of those who are fully aware that the earthly journey is fleeting.

That they think about reframing their lives, without my presence, let them continue in their days of progress and struggles.

And I, pacified soul, may enter the thresholds of Spirituality left so long ago, with the will to continue learning, working, as soon as I recover from the fatigue of the earthly journey and from possible reflexes of physical disorders that may have taken my last few days.

That I can return to the home I left there, resuming tasks suspended for a while.

And that, as a Spirit, I have the possibility of feeling free, transiting through so many places that I wanted to visit, while incarnated.

I want to see landscapes that I simply dreamed of while going through books or watching documentaries.

Discover spectacular places created by Your greatness, where waterfalls sing, mountains vibrate and the forests praise You.

Anyway, Lord, stay with me at this time.
