ícone Loneliness

There are days when we feel the burden of loneliness more intensively…

As we elevate ourselves, uphill, doing our duties, we experience the loneliness of the peaks and a profound sadness tears up our sensitive soul.

Where are those with whom we used to smile together in the Spring park of youth?

Where do the hearts, which longed for comfort in the fantasy hours, land?

Where do those who shared the bread and the dream in the merry adventures of the beginning take shelter?

Most certainly they stayed behind along the way.

They stayed in the valley, flying around in narrow circles as the golden butterflies, which fall to pieces at the very first touch of the faintest light that may come into their sight.

Around us, the brightness, but also the silence ...

Within us, the joy of knowing but also the pain of not being understood...

Our voice screams without echo and our wishes are prolonged in vain.

However, if we really ascend, which ears could hear us at great distances and which heart, hungry for the warmth of the valley, could be ready to understand our ideals of height?

We cry, we question, we suffer...

Notwithstanding, what kind of rebirth is not painful?

The bird, in order to set itself free, destroys the cradle of shell it was born into, and the seed to produce suffers the dilaceration in the unknown grave.

Loneliness, while tending others, generates inner grandeur.

The rock that supports the plain is used to live in isolation, and the sun that feeds the whole world shines alone.

Let us not tire from learning about the science of elevation.

Let us remember our Lord, Jesus, who climbed the Calvary with the cross on His sore shoulders. No one followed Him in this shocking death, with the exception of two wrongdoers, embarrassed because of the punishment, in obedience to the law.

Let us not list the assets we may possibly have already spread.

Let us trust in the endless good that awaits us.

Let us not wait for the others, in our march for sacrifice and personal development. And let us not forget that, through the redemption ministry, demonstrated to all human beings, our Divine Friend not only lived, fought and suffered, but was also harassed and crucified.

The sacrifice on the cross is the most beautiful resignation lesson that our Master has left us.

With no imposition whatsoever, he summoned: “Whoever wishes to follow Me, pick your own cross, deny yourself and follow Me.”

This means we should take the cross of our suffering with abnegation, and try to climb the hill of spiritual ascend with faith in the one who made the invitation.

And despite our bleeding feet, we shall see, when we get to the top, the flower-covered plain and the shining road leading to our Master.

Let us then remember Him and follow Him...

If we do not bring with us the marks of the testimony brought about by responsibility, work, sacrifice or inner development, it is possible that we love Jesus profoundly but it is almost certain that we are still not beside Him in the redeeming journey.

Let us then bless our cross and follow Him in our quest for the triumph of eternal love and happiness.
