ícone Extraordinary mothers

As he walked down the street, a youngster saw a man lying on the pavement.

Quite innocent but owner of a good heart, he called a cab and took the fainted man into hospital.

When they arrived, the young man realized he did not have any money to pay for the taxi fare.

The cab driver asked:

Who is this man you are bringing into hospital?

I do not know, answered the youngster. I saw him lying on the street and thought I should help him.

Well, said the driver, if you can help someone you do not know, I can do it too. The bill is on me.

Still unconscious the man was put on a stretcher. And then problems started.

The young boy knew nothing about the man, nor his name, his address, or if he had a health insurance. He knew nothing at all.

After all, he told the receptionist, I did not search his pockets. I only thought I should help him.

Well, if he is not a relative of yours and you do not even know him, who is going to be responsible for the billing of the necessary care?

I do not know, said the boy, I can not afford it. I only know he needs to be seen. He can not just stay there, helpless.

For the lady, the matter was very simple. He had to give a pledge to start with, and later on they would think about the other things.

While he was trying to explain he did not have any money on him, nearly begging for the man to be assisted, a doctor entered the doors of the hospital.

Talk to him, said the lady. He is the director. If he gives you an authorization...

There he went. As soon as the doctor realized what was happening, he immediately allowed the sick man to be taken care in the hospital.

Soon after, he asked the young man to go to his office.

When the youngster got inside the room, he saw a natural size picture which enchanted him. It was a beautiful lady of very expressive eyes.

Who is she? – He asked.

The director, sitting down, answered: My mother. She was a very poor woman. However, she managed to help me become a doctor, washing and ironing clothes.

She is already dead. But she achieved her purpose: I graduated in medicine, and as you can see, today I am the General Director of this big hospital.

Who would have guessed? The poor son of a laundry woman. However, this extraordinary woman, not only managed to help me get my diploma, but she also gave me wise lessons of life knowledge.

The day I graduated, she told me:

“Son, do as much goodness as you can. Use your knowledge, as a doctor, to save as many lives as possible.”

That is why, young man, whoever arrives at this hospital is treated, as that man you got on the streets.

Later we will see if he can afford to pay or not.

In my mother’s memory, this exceptional woman who worked hard so that I could become a doctor, I will never allow someone to die at my hospital’s door.

I treat and will always do, the best way I can, the ones who can afford as well as the ones who cannot. I could not ignore my mother’s wish.

Every mother is an educator. Some teach subjects for the everyday matters of their children’s lives. They teach how to behave, send them to school, they feed them.

Others, and these are the extraordinary mothers, they renounce everything in the name of their children.

They transmit lessons for an everlasting life. They do not think only about the physical well-being of their children. They go beyond. They work and establish lessons for the lives of their Spirits.

They want their sons to be happy today, on Earth, as well as on the Afterlife, when they abandon the carnal cocoon.

These mothers…These are really extraordinary mothers.
