ícone Jesus and the others

Humanity lives a serious ethical crisis.

The news published in the diverse means of communication is disheartening.

Just a glimpse and one can say that evil has the world in the palm of its hand.

Politics are deeply immersed in corruption.

Violence runs free in our society.

Lack of decency seems to be the symbol of the new generation.

Smartness obtains more results than loyalty.

Tax evasion is nearly excused as self defence.

Among so much filthiness and disloyalty, being honest seems quite extravagant.

A man who is not so judicious can wonder:

“Is it worth being honest?”

In a vilified world, full of dishonesty, would it not be better to take advantage as well?”

Considering this question, it is worth recalling Christ’s lessons:

In a certain passage of the Gospel, Peter asks the Master about another disciple’s destiny and his tasks.

Jesus, in a most significant way, replies:

“What do you care? You follow Me.”

The lesson is clear. In this world, each one is responsible only for their own acts.

Surely, we must help one another. After all, the Messiah encouraged us to practice reciprocal love.

However, each of us lives our individual moment.

Just as it is not possible to pick a fruit before the right time, a man can not show virtues which he has not developed yet.

But one who is committed to Christian’s values can not use others’ venality as an excuse.

Whoever is conscious about the importance of honesty, has the duty of being strictly loyal, until the last consequences.

Jesus affirmed that it will be given to each one according to their workmanships.

Thus, it does not matter that others live in illusion. The compromise of the Christians is with their own consciences.

Dignity is a reward itself. As it incites the fulfilment of duties, it gives an inner lasting peace. A treasure no one can take away from you.

You are not responsible for the world, but you are responsible for your own attitudes.

Your dignity and ethical behaviour will certainly contribute to the construction of a better society.

On the other hand, what advantage would you have trying to live adjusting yourself to a corrupted world?

You already yearn for other values.

The lack of decency, modesty, dignity and self-respect no longer suits you.

Above all, at the end of your life, you certainly would feel sorry for not being faithful to your deepest yearnings.

Therefore, live with dignity.

Before dishonesty and indignity, offer your pure living.

Preserve the purity of your attitudes, independently of what others do.

One of the virtues to be achieved by the Spirit in its journey through eternity is tolerance.

Where is the best place to be tolerant, if not amongst ignorance?

Amongst pure Spirits, you would not have the chance of conquering this quality.

Therefore, consider your life on Earth as a luminous opportunity.

Live with tranquillity amongst the corrupted; do not get under the illusion of corruption, being aware that only wolves get caught in wolves’ traps.

Perceive and take pity on other people’s mistakes.

But remember that your commitment is with the Divine Law and with your own conscience.
