ícone Before our departure

We are perishable while living beings, passing by Earth. Only our Spirit is Immortal.

Despite this transience, we still give importance to a number of things that do not matter that much.

We should have learned to save spaces in our agenda and energy to the small things that make us happy and give meaning to life.

Possibly that is why someone has written a farewell poem about a person who, in the face of death, realizes a balance over the yesterdays left behind and the tomorrows that he will not live in this world.

When tomorrow begins without me, and I am not there to see it, if the Sun rise and find your eyes filled with tears for me, I wish you would not cry the way you cried today, while thinking of the many things that we did not say.

I know how much you love me, and how much I love you. And every time that you think of me, I know you miss me.

But when tomorrow starts without me, please, try to understand that an angel has come and called my name, took me by the hand and said that my place was ready, in the Heavenly abode.

And that I had to leave behind everyone that I loved so much.

But when I turned myself to leave, a tear trickled down my face. I thought I did not want to die.

I had so much to live, so many things to do, and it seemed almost impossible that I was leaving without you.

I thought about our past days, the good days and the bad days, about all the love we lived, about all the joy we have had.

If I could live again the yesterday, even that it was only for a moment, I would say good bye and give you a kiss. And maybe I would see you smiling.

Only then I found out that this would not happen, because the emptiness and the memories would occupy my place.

When I thought about the things of this world, I saw that I may not come back tomorrow.

Then I thought about you and my heart was filled with pain.

But when I crossed the gates of the heaven I felt at home. When God looked at me and smiled, He said: “This is eternity and all I promised you.

Now your life on Earth is past but here a new life begins.

I promise you that there will not be tomorrow, but today will last forever.

So, how about holding my hand and share of my life?”

Soon, when tomorrow begins without me, do not think that we are apart, because every time you think of me, I will be inside your heart.

Let us not wait to die to wish to do the things that make us happy.

Let us listen to our heart and do not wait the time of the departure to say: I love you! You are important in my life! My life without you would not have been so wonderful!

Let us not spare gestures and words to express our affection, our kindness to the ones we love.

Thank you, my mother! Congratulations, my son! Do you remember that day?

Let us remember: after our death, the company we work for will continue, the work will proceed, someone else will do it.

But no one will be able to replace us in the heart of our loved ones. So, let us enjoy, intensely, being by their side.

None of us know the day, nor the hour of our departure.
