ícone The face of love

Terrorist attacks, regardless of where they are held, are violence against the entire Humanity.

Haunting, destruction, fear. Invisible threats that take away the little peace we have, establishing a reign of insecurity.

They represent the most sad and low in the human being. It is the evil represented in action, the evil that still finds refuge in so many souls in the globe.

Over the years, we have tried to fight the evil with another greater evil. We have seen it did not work. The pain has only increased.

We dressed the revenge of justice and have gone around like crazy people, full of excuses, trying to assuage our thirst for peace, love, filled with hate in the heart.

Even today, both in the material plan, as in the spiritual world, large quantity of Spirits matures in anger, indignation and in sorrow, believing to be the fight back the solution that will calm their unbalanced intimate.

No… This cannot be the only way.

Causing pain to others brings us peace? Does it annul or make disappear what they have done to us? Does it calm our desperate heart?

Haven’t the centuries and centuries of suffering made us see the truth yet?

Those who tried to give us the answers were suddenly quiet. Hearing about forgiveness, understanding and good, when we are hurt, is offensive. We hide from the truth.

The truth can be difficult at first. Fighting our impulses and millennial trends requires an unusual effort.

However, it pays it, we can be sure. The truth will set you free.

It has always been within our reach. The alternate way has always been in our routes, calling us.

The other face. The other face…

The face of love facing the hatred. The face of open arms that accept, against intolerance that repudiates. The face of charity that builds facing the bombs that tear apart.

The other face. Not the face of indifference, but the one of intelligent action in good, because if the evil is elusive, shrewd, cunning, the good is articulate, loving and vigilant.

Thus, when we are attacked, no matter the way, let us present a different face of the one that has reached us. The hatred and violence can persist for a while, but they cannot resist the absolute and higher power of love.

In the occasion of the terrible attack suffered by the city of Paris, in 2015, many were the ones who decided to offer the face of love.

An anonymous pianist dared to take his grand piano out onto the street, positioned the instrument in front of one of places where several people had died, and beautifully played for everyone passing by.

By the sound of Imagine, by John Lennon, tears mixed with smiles through art. The music, like a prayer and singing of hope, invited everyone to reflect about their future, about their lives and bigger goals.

There was no hatred or desire for revenge in the fingers of the mysterious pianist. There was empathy for the pain of his countrymen and a profound desire for peace.

In that place of so much distress, to the sound of gunfire and bombs, that still cruelly echoed through the constructions, there was now the melody of love.

Imagine all the people sharing all the world.

You may say I am a dreamer, but I’m not the only one.

I hope some day you’ll join us.

And the world will be as one.
