The scene takes place in a supermarket. With the two grandchildren, the grandmother shops. Only the essential, which is written in the short list she has in her hands.

The girl picks up from the shelf a praline cake, wonderful and puts it in the shopping cart. At the supermarket checkout, the grandmother realizes that she does not have enough money and asks to return it.

The girl insists and the grandmother explains that, in another moment, when they have conditions, they will buy a cake.

You said that the last time. – Answers the girl.

A guy, who watched everything, bought the cake left in the supermarket checkout, reached the three and placed it in the hands of the child.

No, said the grandmother, we cannot accept. You do not have any  obligation to do this.

As a matter of fact, I do. – He said, with a smile. When I was seven years old, I was at the supermarket and I picked out a cake. It was my birthday. My mom explained that we had no money. And a man bought it, wrapped it and gave it to me.

He insisted that my mom let me accept it. She asked  him to write down his phone number on a piece of paper to when it was possible, give the  money back.

He wrote something down on the paper and put it in my shirt pocket.

So, said the grandmother, write down your phone number. We will give the money back, as soon as we can.

The children arrived home, carrying the bags. The girl, happy, went to meet her grandfather, who was in a wheelchair and put the cake on his lap.

Happy birthday, Grandpa!

Thank you, he said. It is my favorite.

And to his wife: You should not spend money on a cake. You know about our difficulties.

It was a guy who bought it and offered it. I asked  him to write down in this paper his phone number. Look.

He opened the folded paper and read: A simple act of kindness creates an endless wave.

Quickly, his mind took him to a scene in a supermarket. It was him, in full maturity, seeing a mother explaining to a seven-year-old boy that she did not have enough money to buy the birthday cake.

He bought it and gave it to the boy, whose eyes shined.

And, at the request of the mother, to write down his phone number on a piece of paper, he wrote that same phrase.

Yes, a simple act of kindness creates an endless wave. It is the chain of goodness. And, in very specific ways, also reaches those who practiced it.

Someone wrote that the Universe is a living being. In it everything is in rhythm of harmony. If, for example, a butterfly lifts its wings in the Pacific Ocean, that affects the galaxies.

We are all connected as in a huge ocean of vibrations. Immersed in the Divine breath of love, that sustains us.

That is why, everything we do affects, resonates. When we do something good, as small as it seems, it vibrates and reaches someone, near or far away.

Let us think about that and base our acts on the good, choose as a diary purpose to make someone happy. It can simply be by smiling to your neighbor, wishing a good day, giving back the ball that fell in our garden to the boys, a common courtesy gesture, giving your way in transit.

One action a day. A gesture of kindness. Think about it.
