Simple gestures can change the world. Inspire yourself with one more of them.

At about a year ago, a forty-three year old cultural producer and artisan, decided to dedicate part of her time to make the day of other people a little happier.

And with a very simple attitude: she offered basil for everyone who passes near her house, in one of the major Brazilian capitals.

It all began when she decided to distribute the plants to other residents in the neighborhood.

Nonô, as she is known, gathered packaging of juice, boxes of milk and other disposable little vases and placed them in a small curb, on the facade of her house for those who pass there, to take the seedlings.

With the intention that the passer-bys knew that the plants where there to be taken, the producer has put a sign by the gate with the following sentence:

You may take happy seedlings of basil to make your life smelling good.

A lot of people looked at the picture of it - on the internet - and asked: "Where is it? I wanted it too." But I do not inform my address. The objective was not to transform my house into a flower shop, but rather to show that, with very simple things, we can make great changes, said Nonô.

After publishing the picture in social networks, she claims to have been surprised by the impact.

Everyone praises and say such things as: "The world needs more people like this." My answer is: "Well, be one of them."

This idea of being one of them is a crucial point in our reflections, a stop point.

An invitation to get out of the inertia of those who only observe, of whom only note and praise, to the position of the person who acts, who does.

We do not need more praise, we do not need any more facade recognition, but we need that us all join those who make the difference in the world and no longer stand the chaos which has been installed.

It can be by offering open arms to the Haitian refugees, by working for the education of underprivileged children in poor neighborhoods, where crime is prevalent, or even by offering the kindness of seedlings of basil, we need more action in good.

With the seedlings go the joy of those who planted and offered them. There it is all the difference. There it is the whole value.

The timidity of the good ones has cost us dearly, has taken us much time, time in which we could have been doing all things differently and better.

The good is not shy. It is active. It is fearless and kindle!

Look at the life of the great missionaries of good on Earth! None of them was an off star!

Now think: Wouldn't you be able to offer even a seedling of basil to brighten up the life of another person? Nor any minimum donation? Something unexpected, something that comes from your heart, something more than you already do?

But I lack time! - You might say.

Is it time that you really lack?

Is it true that we need money to donate ourselves?

Donate your joy, donate your knowledge, donate your time, donate your ability on this or that, and make the day of someone a little bit happier.

If the other deserves it or not, it does not matter. You deserve the good that the good brings you, because you get soaked with it in the first place - always remember that.

The world needs more people like this... Be one of them.
