ícone Lesson well learned

The boy was only five years old. He lived in a small town in the interior of Rio Grande do Sul. A place where almost everyone knew each other.

Cases of theft or other crimes, when raged, were a revolution in town, as if it were the end of the world.

In that location, neighbors greeted each other and, when they saw children off the street, soon they were about to ask where their parents were, what they were doing on their own, where they were going.

In summary, each cared for others.

It was, therefore, in a natural way, that Mrs. Ruth, when off to go shopping, knowing that it would take her a few hours, looked to the ground of the house next to hers and in seeing the boy to play, she said: Take care of my house, please.

The boy raised his eyes and waved, positively, with the head.

Then he called his dog, a friend since the first hours of childhood. It was his partner to play.

The dog followed him everywhere he went. And the parents knew that the boy would be safe under the guard of the faithful animal.

Then, the boy opened the gate of his house, walked up to the neighboring house, stood on tiptoes to reach the handle of the gate and went in.

He sat down on the cemented entry, for accessing the house and the dog sat beside. And they stayed there for more than three hours.

The mother, in seeing the boy in unfamiliar land, worried that he would do something wrong and called him several times to come home.

But to each call, he waved negatively with his head and said: I cannot!

When Mrs. Ruth arrived, she understood: the boy had taken it literally when asked to take care of her house and remained on duty, in front of her door, for more than three hours.

She kissed him, smiling, thanked and entered into the house. He stood up and with his dog, returned to his own home.

In the evening, the mother was taken by surprise by the arrival of Mrs. Ruth looking for her son.

Overwhelmed asked: What has he done? Has he done anything wrong?

But the neighbor insisted that she wanted to talk to the boy. He came and, for his mother's astonishment, the old lady hugged him, kissed, thanked and gave him a dish with sweets she had made.

Only then the mother had the explanation of what her son had done. Her son, whom she, since very early, had taught him the lesson of responsibility and duty.

He has got it well.

Invest in education since the first hours of life of our children.

Do not believe that they are too young and will not understand the rules of good conduct, of which is the duty and responsibility.

The child assimilates all what listens and, above all, what sees.

Talk about the duties and give examples.

Conscious of the fact that we must prepare our children for the world, give them the best in terms of education.

If we are among those who observe the bad education of others being showed, in some occasions, offer to the world citizens accomplishing duties, good people, our children.

Let us be promoters of a renewed society, of people committed to the peace of others and our own peace, with the well-being of our similar and our own happiness.

Finally, let us be builders of the tomorrow of blessings.
