ícone Lotus flower

Plant that flourishes on the water, the lotus flower, native from Asia, is considered sacred in some oriental cultures.

Its roots are born in the sludge and its stem develops in the mud until it reaches its full size, when the button emerges on the surface of the water to blossom in the sun.

At night, the petals of the flower close and it dives underwater. Before dawn, it returns to the surface, where it opens again.

Its shinning petals have the property of cleaning themselves, in other words, they can repel microorganisms and sludge, making sure the water does not contaminate itself and, because of that, the flower is able to flourish in the midst of the swamp.

In a symbolism used in the Orient the muddy water that welcomes the plant is associated with the attachment and the desire for material objects and the flower blossoming on the water, searching for light, represents the promise of spiritual elevation.

It represents the overcoming of pain and suffering in the physical world in search of spiritual growth and it is considered a symbol of the purity of the soul.

When the circumstances are not favorable to us, when the temptations surround us, when we are often called to test our character, we should seek out the good advantage of the situation and remember Jesus.

Christ proposed that we lived in the world without being of the world.

He was the living example that we can go through situations that torment our feelings and, even so, do not be disheartened and follow confident in our own goals.

He also showed us that it is possible to enjoy the things of the world and not let them possess us.

The social and family life is part of the process of evolution. No one can get the spiritual fulfillment following alone.
