ícone Who offers flowers

Who offers flowers is always perfumed.

The sentence is one of the many adaptations from a possible ancient Chinese saying.

Another version says: a little bit of perfume always stays in the hand of the one who gives flowers.

In the inner self of this idea is the teaching that we are the most benefited by a good action that has been practiced, by a donation, by a gesture of affection.

Who receives the flowers can get perfumed or not, be delighted or not, be thankful or just give little importance to the fact.

However, who offers the bouquet is already perfumed.

We have no control over someone else´s reaction. We don’t know if they will use it well, if they will know the true value of what we did or said.

But at the moment we make the decision of choosing the roses we are already being drenched in its beautiful and delicate fragrance.

Then, transporting it and remaining in its presence for a while, we offer a gift to our own eyes and thoughts with flowering images.

Sometimes we worry too much about how the other will receive, if they will know how to appreciate, to be thankful and we end up not tranquilizing our soul.

The soul that offers blooms doesn’t have to get distressed because it is already immersed in good, flooded in love, real love, the one that doesn’t wait for return or acknowledgment.

Of course we always wait cheerfully for a smile in the face of who received our gift, as it is a confirmation that our action was noble.

Nevertheless the bigger confirmation is in our conscience that always warns us, always signals when we are in the noble feelings way.

There is the little quantity of perfume that stays in our hands.

We always win when we give our best, when we worry about someone else. This is one of the biggest blessings of charity – it fills us up.

In the same way, if we think in a negative way, of the bad actions, we imagine hands full of mud ready to be thrown at someone.

Who throws mud is already packed in it. It is the first to get dirty and to harm itself and even if it throws far away, targeting someone or something, will always remain with muddy hands.

This makes us understand that we always have a choice: being perfumed or with the hands full of mud.

I offer you the flowers of my soul,

Reaped from here and there, in the fields I’ve been,

In the lives I’ve lived, during this time that I’m already me.

I offer you my smiles and my art,

The art of blending the multicolor words, as flowers, making a garden,

I offer you my most precious time, because time which we spend together is much bigger than the one passed alone,

I offer you company, not from someone who thinks the same way, but from someone who thinks at your side, listens, respects and  understands other kind of thinking.

I offer you what is best in me... And a curious thing is that I don’t get empty. No, when I do this, I feel even bigger.
