ícone My next, my sibling

It has been told that a monk and his disciples were walking down a road and when they crossed a bridge over a river, they realized a scorpion was being dragged by the flow.

Quickly, the monk got into the water and caught the little animal, that was about to drown.

However, while he was trying to take it off the water, the scorpion stung the monk and, because of the pain, he let it fall back into the river.

Without discouraging, the monk ran to the margin, picked up a tree’s stick and got into the water again, took the scorpion and saved it.

After that, he joined the disciples, who were watching everything and now they looked at the monk stunt and scared.

One of the disciples, expressing the group curiosity, exclaimed: Master, this must be hurting a lot!

Yes, it is, the master retorted, restrained as always.

The learner continued, indignant: So why you went back to save that evil and poisoned animal? You should have let it drown! Look how it answered to your help! It stung the hand that saved it! It did not deserved your compassion!

The master, calm and mild, looking to the group affirmed: The scorpion acted according to its nature and I did according to mine.

Since we are born, we are all included in society, we raise family bonds and, step by step, we take on our social role.

We are parents, sons, daughters, uncles, aunts, nephews. And also employers, employees, volunteers, service providers, liberals professionals.

Not always these relationships are free of quarrels, disagreements, hurts, disappointments.

Those among us who seek practice the social living, in a useful way, many times we fall into the ambush of wanting that the other may change himself into our own way to understand the world.

We hope that, for the good of the relationship, the other makes the necessary morals adjustments, because we understand that the other is the one mistaken. We always hope that the other changes, so in that way, we may eventually make some adjustments.

However, we must remember that we all are immortal Spirits who seek intellectual and moral elevation.

The mistakes that we strongly point at each other, they might be, in a more accentuated way, inside of ourservelves and, because of that, we can easily see them in the others.

And we are walkers of the progress and we have ours plots of mistakes and rights. That one who hurts us and our heart forgives has as many chances to be wrong as us.

We act according to our moral precepts. The only certain we have is that we are not owners of  the truth.

But, we are looking for you trough Jesus, Who had the opportunity to say: I am the Path, the Truth and the Life.

In doubt, we shall follow Christ recommendation that suggests us not to judge the others, suggests us to forgive seventy times seven times, suggests us to pray and watch – not the other, but ourselves.
