Some say that hate is love gone mad. And when you look at certain couples splitting you can very well see this truth.

Also that the dividing line between love and hate is very thin.

Until recently they said they loved each other and there were love, flowers, gifts, and hugs. Joy in each other's company. Suddenly, each will seek their lawyers and each will shout louder for what they believe is their rights.

With such thought the mediator entered the room for the divorce audience. Husband and wife sat facing each other. Beside them were their lawyers.

To relax the atmosphere, the mediator said: Can you feel this odor?

And to the astonishment of those present, he said: It's love! I feel a strong smell of love!

Then, quick as cupid arrow, he asked: Is it possible to reconcile?

No, the husband icily and quickly replied. The woman began to cry softly, without babbling a word.

The lawyer said the case was to approve the desire of both. The couple had no children, had been married for four years, there were no assets to be shared. They were in a hurry.

Then, the mediator, patient and aware of his role, said he would like to know the reason for the divorce.

It was the man's turn to lose composure: She cheated on me!

A Gospel passage came to the mediator's mind. He seemed to see the small square in Jerusalem, surrounded by tamarind trees in bloom, in that end of day when an adulterous was taken to the Master...

He asked permission to the present and said that Jesus forgave the adulteress. Why couldn't forgiveness be applied in the case?

The lawyer confessed to being the preacher of the two. They were Protestants and the case fell like a bomb in the church. So everything should be over soon...

The talk went on in no hurry by the mediator. After all, he thought, he was dealing with two lives. Two creatures that had joined their lives because they loved each other.

After three hours of conversation, the woman, who had been silent all the time, screamed and fell at her husband's feet.

Kissing his hands, she begged for forgiveness. It was a touching scene.

The husband could not resist. He cried too. They were Christians, he learned the teachings of Jesus. And above all, he loved his wife.

He forgave her, something so important for both and they were reconciled.

As they left, the mediator received a big hug from the lawyer. In that action, he said: Thank you! God is with you.

All the teachings of Jesus are to be used in our lives. The lesson of forgiveness is perhaps the most difficult to assimilate and put into practice.

However, it is a rule of happiness. Who does wrong and shows regret needs a chance for redemption.

Whoever rises from the fall, finds comfort in God.

The Father Creator does not abandon any children, and in the herd of Jesus, there will always be a place for the sheep that comes back and wants to progress.

Think about it and let us be agents of forgiveness.
