Have you ever realized that sometimes a negative answer from God is the best one?

Have you ever noticed how many times you asked for something to the Creator and did not succeed?

Usually, we do not appreciate a negative answer.

However, after some time, we conclude that whatever He sent us was the best.

A popular proverb says that God writes right on crooked lines.

The truth is that God writes right on straight lines.

We read, some time ago, a story of an American woman who described several situations in her life where the Divine Providence presented itself in a different way from what it had been expected.

For example, a tearful daughter arrived home feeling upset because she did not get the role she wanted at the school end-of-the-year play.

It was what she most desired.

She was sad for a few days. Some days later, she ran into the house, looking quite euphoric.

She had been invited to attend a very important course in another city. She had to present herself immediately.

If she had taken that role in the school play, she would not have been able to accept the invitation for the course, which was quite important for her professional career.

In another moment, her husband had been transferred to another city.

They had to decide if the family was going to follow him or not. Would the kids have problems at school?

She, Beti, would have to leave her job. How could they conciliate everything?

Thinking it would be a terrible experience to live in different cities, they prayed for the transference not to happen. It was all in vain.

They prayed then to find a job for her and a school for the kids, in the other city. Again, it was in vain.

The husband started to come home only at weekends.

Then, when they last expected, maybe due to an administrative change or a task that was concluded before the expected time, they were all together again, with no big changes.

God's denial to their pleadings was indeed providential.

Even when Beti's father, who was already an old man, got ill, God did not answer the way she expected.

They all prayed so that he would get better. Beti remembered her husband's words: Have faith in God's answers, darling.

 She then found out she was not praying correctly.

Therefore, she started to ask: God, I know what I desire, but that not might be the best answer for my father.

He is one of Your creatures too. Be done as You wish and not as I wish.

Her father died two weeks later. She thought about the years of infirmity that her darling father would have to stand, had he survived.

She whispered: It was God's desire.

For all that, at her wedding anniversary, she gave her husband a post-card saying: You are not the husband I wished...

She put the three dots just to create some suspense and concluded: But surely is the best God has chosen for me. He understood and smiled.

It is important to examine what happens to us.

The Divine answer always arrives, even if, generally speaking, not as we wish.

It is that competition that one does not win.

The negotiation over a house that does not work out, or the ideal marriage which finishes still during the engagement.

Everything has a reason to be. Reason that Divinity knows and that we must try to understand.

God loves you and you can feel it. His tenderness touches your face and His hands sustain us.

His breath vitalizes and His silent voice arrives to your ears, with blessings, hopes and orientations.

God lives, reveals and spreads His love through you. You know it...and wherever you are, He will always be with you.

Think about it, but do it now!
