No father or mother, concerned about the education of their children, who did not stop to reflect on what the best paths to follow or how to act properly in education.

Educating always creates insecurity, because we will be often questioning whether our actions are actually the best and the most effectives.

There were times, we can still remember, when a schooled child was the one that obeyed orders, not questioning, not engaging in adults' subjects, which remained shut.

At that time, schooling was the effort in enforcing the social orders, acting as the guiding values, always hard, following the rules.

Excessive rigidity, inflexibility, combined whit the great transformations of society, have put this model into question, if not deep into disuse.

Afraid of being repressive, antiquated and outdated, parents began avoiding this behavior. And, to make sure they were not slipping on the old, they started acting exactly in the opposite direction.

From then on, punish, define rules, impose limits, were abandoned tools, unnecessary to educate.

But, between these two extremely different models, there is a crowd of educators, fathers, mothers, asking themselves: With what tools you educate a child? What are the parameters to be educated?

If we remember that education is to form someone´s character, is to infuse him with concepts, cause it a habit, to make their values be born from there, we can see that the task is complex and long.

So, let´s start with the concepts. We must choose which values we consider important for our child. It is necessary to take them very clear and talk about them with our child. Discuss, reflect, looking for patterns in society, on television, on the news.

Then we experience such values with them. Make ourselves an example, showing them that we are also in a process of education, in this great school called Earth.

Later on, give them the opportunity to decide and take some initiatives, soon we reflect with them about the actions they have taken, and about the consequences of these actions.

Make them realize that they suffer the consequences of good and bad deeds, according to the attitudes and decisions.

From then on, it is the insistence of repeating actions and experience, which the values will be entering in the hearts of our children.

Only through new habits it will be possible to change old values, or create new ones.

And new habits will be built from good concepts that you have in mind.

This way, do not let yourself be taken by fads, and do not worry about being modern and current.

To educate, the heart will always be a good guide where, guided by noble values, we will proceed in a safe direction.

And yet, if we are alert, with eyes of devotion and care about those whom we have the responsibility to educate for life, we have good chances of being successful in this great challenge called education.
