One of the reasons that have most attracted the doctor Lucano, known as Luke, the Evangelist, when being in touch with the Doctrine of Jesus, were the healings.

As for being a doctor, and as for knowing his limits, for having many experiences of death with the patients under his care, the healings of Jesus have marveled him.

Surely that is why we can find numerous descriptions of them in his Gospel.

He is the one that narrates that, when Jesus entered a city called Naim, he has seen a corpse taken to bury.

The only child of a widow. Moved with compassion, Jesus got close, touched the coffin and commanded: Young man, I tell you, arises.

And the young seated and started talking. Naturally, the young man was not dead, but in lethargic sleep.

Jesus has also given back the movements to many paralyzed people. But, much more than giving back the movements to paralyzed limbs, Jesus was concerned about the paralysis of the soul.

So, we claimed that He had not come to the sane, but to the sick. And to the ones that healed, he said: Go and sin no more so that something worse did not happen to you.

He was careful so the souls would not fall in paralysis. That is why all His preaching is about actions in the good, the movement to become better.

On Earth, we know an extraordinary doctor and researcher that has worried a lot so people would not become paralyzed.

His name was Albert Sabin and he was born in a small Polish village, in the times it belonged to Russia. The Russian persecution against Jews made him and his family emigrated to the United States in 1921.

The adapting was difficult because of the poorness. Having the help of an uncle, Albert Sabin began his studies in Dentistry, later changing his choice to Medicine.

He had become a researcher of the Rockfeller Institute of Medical Researches, where he came to demonstrate the growth of polio virus in human tissues. Later on he proved the effectiveness of an oral vaccine against the virus.

In 1960, after joint researches with scientists of many countries, the vaccine against polio was officially produced in the United States. Doctor Albert Sabin became known all over the world.

His name was given to hospitals, schools, institutes. There is no one that has kids and is not thankful to Doctor Albert Sabin, for the vaccine against polio. The little saving drop.

In one of his various visits to Brazil, he received from the Brazilian government, in 1967, the Grand Cross of the National Achievement.

He has freed children from paralysis of the limbs. Jesus has freed the creatures from paralysis of the soul.

So, tells the young man: Arises!

And to the paralyzed: Arise, take your mat and walk!

Action. Dynamism. An invitation to keep forward, always moving.

Jesus is the Divine Doctor of our souls and invites us to help ourselves with the vaccine against bad, hugging His Doctrine of love.

His invitation is for us to follow Him, and do not stay still in silly positions of rashness and revenge.

I am the Way, the Truth and the Life, He tells us.

No one comes to the Father except through me.

Who has ears to hear, let him hear!
