ícone Starting a New Year

Every time the year draws to a close it seems that we all show signs of fatigue.

Either because the parties have multiplied (there are graduations, weddings, business dinners) or because we are already preparing for the upcoming holiday travel.

One way or another it is common to hear people venting that they do want the year to come to an end soon.

Those who suffered a lot want it to end soon waiting for new, less painful days.

Those who lost the loved ones want it to end eagerly willing that the upcoming days bring hope to the heart shattered by the absences.

Those who are completing a course and made their best wish the upcoming months to show up so they can rest from so much effort.

And so it goes. Each one goes along thinking of the year that is just about to come to an end in the sense of leaving something behind. Something that was not very good.

Naturally, there are many who see the year ending with contentment for it was amenable to them. They wish that the days ahead repeat the joy, affection, and positive things.

Old Year, New Year. They are conventions marked by the human calendar based on the movements of the planet around the sun.

But psychologically speaking it also does bring us a different state of mind.

In its wisdom, as God do nothing without a useful purpose, such is the case of time as we conventionally see it.

Every day is a new day. Night reminds us of resting. Dawn announces a renewed opportunity.

Each year ending invites us to leave behind all the bad and unpleasant things we experienced and allows us to make plans for the near future.

For all that, for the opportunity that Divinity allows us every three hundred and sixty-five days on this Earth, think that you can improve your life in the upcoming year.

Start by removing all the clutter from your home. Free yourself from those things you keep in the cupboards, in the garage, and in the backyard.

Things that have been there for a long time waiting to be used one day. A  day that may never come. Think about how long they have been there: months, years ... waiting.

They are clothes, shoes, books, old records, and utensils that you have not used for years. Free up space in the cabinets.

Old and outdated things are very useful in museums for the preservation and evolution of our History.

Donate what you can to those who need more.

Feel the free space, feel lighter.

Then think about how many useless things you keep in your heart and your mind.

Grievances, slander, and lies that took your peace away, betrayals that made you ill, friendly daggers which tore the flesh of your soul...

Separate them all from you. Mentally put everything in a large envelope and picture yourself throwing it in the flowing waters of a raging river that take will it into the sea of forgetfulness.

Start the New Year in a different way. And start lighter, without that heavy load that destroys the possibility of happiness.

Start the New Year looking ahead, to the top. Set goals for happiness and achievements.

You are a child of God and heir of His love and happiness.

Conquer it. Drop the unnecessary pain, think positively.

Visualize the people who are your friends, who love you, who wish you well.

Plan yourself to be with them in order get strength to achieve noble goals.

Start the year thinking about how you can influence people and your environment with your positive action.

Plan to win. Plan to make a deaf ear to those who wish to disgrace you and move on.

Plan to be happy. The day comes. It's the New Year. Follow to the light assured that with firm determination and desire to do it right, Jesus will bless your efforts.

It's the New Year. Think new. Think big. Be happy.
