ícone Celestial birthday

Here comes that day once more. And once more it speaks of love and hope.

It is the birthday of the most important being Earth has ever nurtured. Sovereign of the stars, Ruler of our planet, King of the sun.

Christ of God, the anointed one. Men guessed His coming since time immemorial. More than once his greatness was mistaken for that of God himself.

However, this special being, our Lord and Master, came to dwell among us. When so may complain about the planet where we stand, of the hardships of living, the Sun King took up a human body and was born here.

He came defenseless, giving Himself to the care of a young lady. He was her first son.

When some pointed the lack of experience of first-time mothers, He was not afraid of entrusting Himself to the care of someone who had never conceived previously.

He was not even afraid of her youth. He surrendered Himself as much as He trusted a man who, during his childhood and adolescence years, He honored and lovingly called father, deferring to him in all aspects.

And allowed Himself to be educated in the Hebrew law, in the story of a people that had suffered much, although He knew much more of men's science and justice, and beyond.

Lord and Master, he chose a silent, almost cold night to be among His brothers, His sheep, His flock.

He asked the Father Almighty to fill the skies with star to testify His coming, because He came into the planet as the light of the world, to be longer among His fellows.

He also asked the Holy Father to send a messenger to the simple people He came to meet, to tell them of His birth.

And that He was waiting, poor and small, in a manger, protected by the love of His parents and wrapped in tissues.

And a star of unequalled brightness surged in the sky, drawing the attention of illustrious scholars, who expected the special sign to go and meet the King.

He was visited by shepherds and mages from the East, smiling upon them all, ensuring He had come. Hope was among men.

He served as a carpenter, on the roads of Galilee and Judea.

He performed incredible deeds, returning sight to the blind, hearing to the deaf, movement to paralyzed limbs, heath to diseased bodies.

At the lake of Gennesaret, in plain nature, he strummed the most beautiful songs love could conceive.

Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, for my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst.Come to me...

His voice was full of teachings, joy and hope.

When so many rebelled against the servitude imposed to them, He taught that freedom lies above and beyond material issues.

He taught us to be free in conscience, in duties fulfilled, in righteousness, with nothing to stop us in the rearguard of pain.

Lord and Master. Master of sensibility, love and wisdom. Lord of the Earth. Our Shepherd.

He came. May us remember Him again this Christmas and join our voices with the Celestial Messengers:

Hosanna to the Lord of Life! Ave, Christ! Those who wish to be with You remember Your august glory and beg of You light, peace and blessings.

Be with us, Celestial boy, now and forever.
