ícone The mountain of life

Life can be compared to the conquest of a mountain. Just like life, a mountain has ups and downs. To arrive at the summit with success, detailed observation is necessary.

Any climber knows that he or she must have the appropriate equipment to climb a mountain. The higher the mountain, the more careful one must be, and the preliminary arrangements have to be thought about in more detail.

At the beginning of the climb, it all seems very easy. The higher you get, the more difficult it gets.

After reaching the first stage, you will need all your strength to keep going. The most important is to have a clear goal: to arrive at the top.

As you go up, the scenery that opens before you is marvellous. The landscape is of a lush green from the trees, we can see sharp stones that challenge the sky. At the bottom, people's houses look so small...

When you are at the top, you realize the problems you have already overcome are the same size as the tinny houses you can see from there.

However, a small imprudence can make you lose your balance and you could fall off the mountain, violently hitting a bush or even being trapped in the cleft of a rock.

At this point, you will need a friend's help. You can be wounded, hurt to the point that you might not be able to move. A friend comes and eases your pain. Cures your wounds.

He can give you a hand, pull you up and help you restart the climbing. Hands and feet get firm again, the rope attaches you to the friend who then pulls you to the top.

In your long trip, the path that takes you to the top is conquered day-by-day.

Sometimes the air is so thin that you have difficulty in breathing. The correct equipment can save you.

After that, you might have to face snowstorms or chilli winds, which can be compared to the problems you will still have to come across.

If you start to slide in the slope of uncertainties, you can use your abilities to stop and start again. If you fall into a hole of somebody´s falsity which was covered in snow, you must be familiar with the technique of standing up again without twisting your ankle or hurting whoever is next to you.

To climb the mountain of life, we must learn to go up and down, to fall off and stand up, and to start again with the same courage.

Never give up happiness, never give up a new path, a new landscape, until we finally get to the top of the mountain.

For climbers, the highest peaks are the most attractive ones. Their only desire is to reach the top, and they will do whatever it takes to achieve it.

They prepare themselves for months. They select a team, the equipment to be used. After that, they go for the big conquest.

One of these bold alpinists, Waldemar Nicliewicz, the Brazilian who conquered the Everest, once said: Who, amongst us, does not desire to get to the top of our own mountain?

We all have a desire, a dream, an objective, a true Everest. This Everest is not 8.848 metres high, it is not in China or in Nepal. This Everest is inside each one of us.

We must look for this Everest, which is our deepest realization.
