A young woman was attracted by a want ad looking for an Event Programming Director for a certain company.

She applied and got the job. The first day was awful.

When she arrived at the office, the receptionist greeted her:

Are you replacing Helena? It won't be easy to replace her. She was awesome.

A few minutes later at the corridor, another person added:

I feel sorry for you. There is nobody in the world like Helena!

She met a third person and this one welcomed her and said that the company was a great place to work, but added apologetically:

However, things will surely never be the same without Helena!

The young woman was about to turn around and quit the job. How could she compete with this person everybody mentioned?

The room where she was going to work was finally shown to her - the same room where the so-called Helena used to work.

She saw a pile of letters, memorandums, pamphlets, and newspapers, all on her desk.

A pile of paper with almost 1 meter of height.

Well, said the HR director, Helena was brilliant, creative, extraordinary, but a bit... disorganized.

The new employee hardly had time to sit at her desk. She was scared and looking at that pile of paper which she should read, select, archive, and throw away. That was when the door opened:

Hi, said a friendly voice, welcome. Helena worked here for 28 years. Do you think you will stay that long?

That was it. She grabbed the phone, called a friend, and almost crying told her about her big mistake.

I quit; I will get out of here! I will not be able to compete with someone that was so good in all she did.

Rose, her friend, firmly replied:

Hey, wait a minute. Where is that friend of mine who wanted to grow in her career?

Where is that person I know who is always ready to face challenges and reach victory?

By the way, do you remember your name?

Surprised, the about-to-cry young woman said:

What a strange question! Of course I know my name, it is Rosa.

Exactly, you are Rosa, not Helena. You cannot and should not be like Helena.

Show your work skills, your creativity, your way of working, and your potential.

You are Rosa. Do not forget that. Do not wish to be equal to anyone. Do not imitate anyone.

What is wonderful in God's Universe is that each one of us is unique. This is why you should never want to be like Helena.

Be yourself and impress your colleagues, your boss, and your clients with your own qualities.

Rosa stayed at her job and had a very successful career.

And because she had the opportunity to have constant contact with famous authors, she was inspired to write her own book.

By the way, a very successful book!

*   *   *

God created us as simple and ignorant Spirits and gave us the great opportunity to develop.

Each one of us uses this possibility as we see fit.

This is why each one of us has our own merits, our unique qualities.

And no one should wish to be exactly like someone else. One can follow examples, but not replicate the exact same behaviour.

One observes experiences, but does reproduce gestures.

Each one of us, as an immortal Spirit, is unique in our intelligence potentials.

Think about it!
