ícone Loving presence

It was Mother’s Day’s Eve and the stores were packed with people looking for presents.

For those who love their mothers, it is nothing but one more day to celebrate the special creature who has given them life.

For those who are forgetful and apart from constant moments of affection, it is an opportunity to remember the one who has helped and supported them.

The wealthy businessman belonged to the second group and as every year he went to the fanciest flower shop in town.

His goal was to pick the most expensive flower, then quickly write a few words on a card and have it delivered by his mother’s.

He parked his car, and as he was just about to enter the shop, he saw a little girl with her nose against the shop window.

What would an 8-years old girl be doing there, staring at flowers?

It would be easy to understand if she were in front of a deli, eating cadies with her eyes, or in front of a toy store, willing to get one.

        But a flower shop?

He came near her and said: Hello, little girl. Why are you starring at the flowers?

As she turned around, the businessman noticed she had tears in her eyes.

I wanted to buy my mom a flower, but I don’t have the money to.

The businessman took her by the hand, walked in the shop and asked her to pick any flower she wanted. Not just one flower, but a whole bouquet.

The little girl was thrilled and picked wonderful and perfumed flowers, showing excellent taste.

The man got happy by looking at the little girl’s happiness. He wondered how surprised her mother would get by looking at her daughter carrying that bunch of flowers.

Thus, he offered to take her to her mom.

Teach me the way. – He said, while accommodating her in his fancy car.

The girl could hardly be seen behind the huge bouquet.

She pointed out the way firmly. Finally, she said:

        Here.

She quickly jumped out of the car, waived him good bye and went into the big cemetery all by herself.

The businessman watched the little girl walking among the graves and started thinking about his own mother.

He then changed his mind and instead of sending flowers, he drove a few kilometers and after many, many years was able to hug his mom by himself.

If you are the kind of person who sets specific dates to give presents, hugs or kisses, stop for a moment.

Ask yourself the value of life if all the ones who love and the ones you say you love simply disappeared from your face.

Imagine yourself going back to an empty home, without loving hugs and children’s laughter.

Think about it and go after those who are looking forward to your love and affection today.

        Hug, kiss, and give in.

If you can, take some flowers or a gift.

If you cannot, may your loving presence be the richest and most expected gift of all.
