ícone Two windows

Every day when we wake up we open two windows to the world. They are our eyes opening up to the poetry that renews itself every morning.

The windows however, are not all the same. And we do not mean the iris color or the eye size, but the capacity to see.

Some people have an accurate vision, but still cannot notice the important details.

There are others though, that despite not having the physical sight are able to open up their windows with great perception.

Everyone can and sees whatever he or she wants to, whatever matters to him or her.

There are those who see the birds holding still in the blue sky.

They follow their flight, their moves seeking food, water and rest.

They feel dazzled by the ability these little wings have to rise and shine at dawn and get nestled by dusk without checking the clock.

There also those who open their windows and see singing waters, where life runs, develops and breeds.

They see the roses bloom in gardens and in well kept vases, which daily receive care and attention from loving hands.

Some see the work of those who will do anything to help other people.

Thus, in one corner they may find a young lady telling stories to illustrate childhood. And they get to see the facial expressions raging from surprise to astonishment.

In another corner, a young man is doing his best to teach the art of controlling a ball or a swimming technique.

On an open air stage, a classic ballet dancer introduces the art to periphery girls, allowing them to express the poetry echoing within their souls.

Children go to school with their backpacks. And they pass by smiling, happy, running and yelling of joy.

The sparrows hop on top of the walls and towards the nearby tree branches.

Throughout the poetic springtime, they will build the nests for their breed which is just on the way.

Lazy cats keep opening and closing their eyes, wondering about the birds they might be able to catch.

Colorful butterflies dance in the air. The jasmine gardens spread their smell.

Sometimes one can even hear a rooster. Would that be midday? A plane flies by, taking people to distant places.

Everybody carries a dream, everybody runs a chore.

And everything, everything is just right. At the exact place, at the very precise moment.

When my windows see all of these, I feel happy. Happy for being a part of such a magnificent concert.

For being an acting part of it. I know some days I may sound as the delicate violin chords, playing sweet melodies.

Some other days though, I seem more like a percussion instrument, making hard listening noises.

It is my soul feeling touched by what is sees through my windows.

So I wish to educate myself a little more in the magnificent art of learning how to see, so to find out more treasures in God's immense and wonderful world.

The world is full of beauties. We still do not have the exact perception of everything around us.

We must focus our efforts in learning how to look in a deeper way.

Then, when we look at the rainbow, we will no longer see the seven colors our physical sight detects.

We will find all the degrees the soul dreams of, the poet idealizes and the Spirit sees.

And everything will tell us about God, Supreme kindness, Supreme perfection, that overwhelms us at every single dawn, presenting new wonders for our own joy.

        Think about it!
