ícone The light of Christmas

Sparkly lights are not a synonym for harmony and peace.

There is light in roaring fires which consume lives and property.

A sinister splendor can be seen in the bombings that only bring death.

Radiant reflexes spring from the flame thrower.

Odd lightning bolts mark the movement of fire arms.

In the Gospel, however, it is different.

Talking about Christmas, the evangelist Luke declares that Christ is the light to illuminate all nations.

The Master did not arrive imposing rules to religious thinking.

He did not ask governors and the governed people about the politic process.

He did not dispute the philosophers about the origin of men.

He did not contest with scientists in demonstrating partial and transient aspects of live either.

He was satisfied with shining light on the immortal Spirit.

His teachings were addressed the peoples of the world.

But He did not make His presence noticed with expressions of power.

He abstained from moving and forming armies and clergy, armaments and courts.

He was focused on what was really important

He brought light to all, projecting it from Himself.

He revealed the greatness of the commonwealth service by the personal dedication to the infinite good.

When reminiscing at Christmas time, meditate on the path you have chosen.

Where does it take you?

Do you have enough light for your march?

What kind of light is shining on your path?

Run from the fatal glare of the short-circuits of rage.

Do not be satisfied by the weak flashlight of vanity, that imitates the fireflies flying low in the night.

Put out the flame of jealousy and dissension which sets hearts into the abyss of crime and suffering.

Do not mistake Christmas time with the sparkle of the stores' decorations either.

Soon, this sparkle will be extinct, but you will still be on your journey.

Enjoy the usual pause at the end of the year to deeply reflect upon your life.

Identify the options that guide you on your path.

Think about the habits you maintain and which reveal your intimate world to others.

Are they in accordance with the Divine Master's teachings?

Jesus said that His yoke was easy and offered His peace.

He also revealed Himself as the path to the true life, and made the invitation.

Whoever whished should carry their cross and follow Him.

To carry our cross and walk with the Master means to mimic his luminous examples.

There is no happiness in disturbance and error.

The splendors of earthly life too soon become tedious.

If you look for the Divine Master and the Christian experience, beyond the illusions of the world, stop and think.

Remember that, on Earth, there are lights which threaten, disturb, confuse and announce utter downfall.

To be a Christian, to enjoy His sublime peace, implicates cooperating with Him.

In order to do that, it is necessary to be ready to extinguish darkness, lighting in yourself that sublime brightness to illuminate.

It is indispensible to be ready to love and serve, making a habit of that by incessant repetition.

Think about it.
