ícone Love revival

It appears during adolescence, manifesting itself in several shapes and forms.

One can notice it has reached the girl’s heart, who eagerly awaits to become a woman, when she starts taking longer on her personal care duties.

Her hair never looks good. Today she wishes it straight, then curly, then she wants to dye it a different color or have it cut in a different way.

She looks at herself in the mirror frontside, sideways, and backside and never looks ok.

Lipstick, perfume, make-up. Tighter clothes, looser clothes, shorter clothes. It is an endless session of likes and dislikes according to the fashion trends.

And once more, while she is already at her doorway, she runs back inside for a last glance at the mirror.

She passes by her dad and asks:

        Am I pretty, daddy?

After all, a man’s opinion makes all the difference.

When the boy, feeling the manhood fire, discovers himself, everyone in the family can tell it.

That is so because he begins taking longer and more frequent showers. The clothes are carefully picked.

The hair – oh, the hair – is the one that requires the most careful treatment. Shaving or just letting the beard grow? What a predicament!

The major question is: How do girls like it best?

The reason for all of this is called love. Something different that makes the heart beat in the brains, the legs shake, the voice stammer, and the hands sweat.

A different feeling for the opposite sex it is now, whereas not too long ago they used to fight as if they were real enemies.

Boys were boring. Girls were foolish.

Now, though, a simple look at each other is able to make them walk on clouds.

The discovery of such a sweet feeling  is a beautiful moment. It is not the same love as the one for parents, brothers, sisters, grandparents or friends.

It is a feeling that feeds the desire of being by someone else’s side; that is able to make us dream with our eyes open, believe that everything is going to happen in the near future, and that happiness is complete and permanent.

Love, sweethearts. Sweet gestures, looks aiming at nowhere that become complete with the image of the object of love.

        Chocolate boxes, flowers, delicate gifts.

You, who have already left adolescence behind; who have been dating the same person for years; who are already married, who are already a parent or a grandparent – can you remember how passionate those days of dreams, hopes, castles in the air were?

You may say you are too old for this, that adolescence is adolescence.

Believe it: the time for love never ends. No matter the season of the year.

When one loves, there are always flowers and perfumes in the heart.

Thus, enjoy this Valetine’s Day and surprise your beloved one, even though you are a little too rusty for gestures accredited to those who are deeply in love.

Show you are still the man of her dreams. Invite her to go out, to dance, to have dinner.

Go out just the two of you. Get back to dreaming, looking at the moon and the stars shining just for you.

Rediscover the love that once united you both.

Offer her flowers, say sweet words, remind her how beautiful she still is.

The maturity of the years has done you well!

Dress yourself as if you were a kid going out on a date for the first time.

And find out that love never grows old because love is the most sublime feeling God allows us to reach.

Think about it! Today, on such a special day!
