ícone Tomorrow is Christmas

The days go by so quickly we do not even realize it… and tomorrow it’s Christmas again…

        So many disagreements…

You’ve certainly had your problems, worked, suffered, smiled… like everybody else.

There were so many obstacles… but strength defeated them and allowed you to overcome the problems.

The family disagreements were not few… but fraternity prevailed.

Maybe a darling son was on the dark path of drugs, but courage was such that it gave you strength during the bitterest moments.

Your home, so calm before, has been menaced by dangerous storms… You nearly gave in …but love sustained it…

The separation resulting from death lacerated the most tenuous threads of your soul…but your faith in God and the certainty of immortality managed to heal it.

Cruel sickness visited you or your beloved family, but confidence and dedication managed to send it away.

Thus, there was so much pain, so many bitter moments… but also so many victories, so many joyful moments…

        Tomorrow is Christmas...

And Christmas is a time of fraternity, solidarity, forgiveness…

And because tomorrow is Christmas, let us reunite with all the ones who fought with us, who in pain and sorrow, in spite of it all, stayed with us.

Let us look at our mother to whom we asked for clean clothes and food the whole year, and tell her:  Where would I be without you? I love you, darling mother.

The father, to whom we asked for money, to borrow his car, his credit card, and let us say with affection: Hi, Dad! Even if I do not say it often, I love you! I am sure my life would be senseless without you.

Let us get close to that brother we do not usually talk to, look into his eyes and say: Hi, brother! How good it is to have you next to me!

Let us get close to that son who is a rebel, uses drugs, is unhappy, and talk to him with tenderness: Son, you are the star of my life! Without you, my life would be pointless…

And because tomorrow is Christmas… let us look to the maid that works in our house, that sometimes arrives at our home before the sun rises and leaves after the last child arrives from school, who washes the dishes and leaves everything in the right place, and tell her: My friend, we need each other, it has been so good to be able to count on you for one more year!

And because tomorrow is Christmas… let us turn to our boss and tell him how important he is in our lives, as he helps us earn our daily bread…

And because tomorrow is Christmas…let us look for a poor home, where hunger insists on dwelling, and banish it even if its is just for a day...

Let us enjoy a delicious meal with them, seasoned with our purest love and stay there a little while with our brothers in need.

* * *

And because tomorrow is Christmas… let us remember the most distinguished Person that Earth has ever heard about…

Let us break the bond of discord that might exist amongst family and friends and let us hug in tenderness…

And because tomorrow is Christmas… let us show to the Person whose birthday it is that His journey on Earth was not in vain…

Beg Him to forgive us for His crucifixion … And let Him embrace us and shelter us in His noble heart…

        Because tomorrow is Christmas…
